The mission of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program is to teach students core foundational aspects of information technology that will prepare graduates to be successful in a variety of information technology-related professions. The program empowers graduates with the technical acumen required to solve business problems through the use of information technology. Students also learn how to innovate by exploring new and emerging technologies.
Graduates of this program are able to identify, analyze and meet the IT needs of all users, whether they are end-users of information systems, managers of enterprise applications, developers of IT solutions or customers of IT-reliant work systems. You'll learn skills in core and advanced information technology, preparing you to develop, integrate and evaluate the IT systems and services that help organizations achieve their goals.
The Computing Technology Industry Advisory Board (CT-IAB) advises and supports the Computing Technology program in its effort to meet the economic development needs in New Hampshire and the region, and to educate computing majors at UNH Manchester in three degree programs: computer information systems, B.S.; computer science, B.A.; and information technology, M.S.

Because information technology is the foundation for much of our business operations, the options are boundless. Wages also afford a good standard of living and there is little chance that your job will become obsolete.
Agencies may wish to include other costs at their discretion. For example, an agency may wish to include digital cameras in their IT budget even though they can be operated stand-alone. Data entry personnel may be included if they are considered part of the technology staff. Costs that are excluded above may be included if they are an integral part of a computer applications or would be difficult to break out because the costs are included with other information technology costs.
Program description. The Computer Information Technology (CIT) program encompasses related disciplines in these general concentrations: Cyber Defense, Networking , and Programming . Students who major in CIT study and gain experience with a variety of systems, applications, languages, products and hardware. Graduates of any of the three concentrations will benefit from sustained growth in demand for highly skilled information technology workers. The concentrations allow for maximum flexibility within the curriculum while ensuring students have adequate credentials in a particular segment of the information technology field. In addition, all CIT students complement their studies with a 135-hour internship at a selected site, which allows students to gain on-the-job experience prior to graduation. All students must take the Brainbench examination in order to fulfill graduation requirements; Brainbench awards certification to students with a passing score.
Once students reach their secondary education, they can discover ways to use technology that can be beneficial for college and career development. Familiarization with Microsoft Office and Google Drive teach students to make spreadsheets, slide show presentations, and share documents where they can receive fluid feedback on their work. Many careers use these elements of Microsoft and Google to organize information and collaborate between colleagues or clients.
Teachers often find success when they present the opportunity to use technology in the classroom. There are various benefits and effects when technology is used for educational instruction and some may argue that not all of the effects are positive. Having an infinite flow of information and entertainment available at any given time could be seen as a distraction, but if technology is integrated into the classroom with routines in place that are monitored or assessed, the pros of using technology in the classroom outweigh the cons.
Not all students learn and retain information in the same way or at the same speed. Technology is an opportunity for teachers to differentiate instruction to modify information for the appropriate learning capabilities of their students. The use of technology can also allow students to work at their own paces.
COBIT Focus Area: Information & Technology Risk provides guidance related to information and technology (I&T) risk and how to apply COBIT to I&T risk practices. The publication is based on the COBIT core guidance for governance and management objectives, and it enhances the core guidance by highlighting risk-specific practices and activities as well as providing risk-specific metrics.
