What I want to do is to have a program that will just run on my machine. So far this has not been possible. I have many different computers and a couple usb cables. My process so far has been to try each computer and each cable to see if I can get it to work. If it works at one time I will then try the next time it worked. If it fails I go back to the not-working computer/cable. This part is the part that I am really stuck on. I have a box of old cables I've gotten from different places but I only have about four of them that I know are all good. If I lose one of them I would be really stuck. Otherwise I've found a workaround with TeamViewer which allows me to have a program that pretty much works as a free debug-in guest.
Note Support for kernel debugging over selected 10 gigabit network adapters is a new feature in Windows 8.1. Debugging over 10 gigabit network adapters is not supported in Windows 8. For a list of network adapters supported by Windows 8 for kernel debugging, see Supported Ethernet NICs for Network Kernel Debugging in Windows 8.
If you can help me setup Windows 10 to be able to debug using a specific cable that would be awesome. Note: Free Edition of Remote Desktop doesn't allow kernel debugging by default. You have to enable it through the settings in RD client.
I've tried to use Hyper-V Debugger to bring up the Virtual Machine by following the instructions in the blog and we've gotten this far. "Hyper-V Remote Debugger Unsupported" The pictures here show that we can't get to the screen where I see my virtual machine. When we try to debug with the kernel debugger we get an error message that reads as follows.
